| | | Rnd 9 - Silverstone was originally an aerodrome. In 1948, after the war, Silverstone was adopted by the Royal Automobile Club as the home for the British Grand Prix. In 1950, when the Formula One World Championship was incepted, Silverstone held the very first round. Today the circuit measures some 5.1km in length. Top speed in a F1 is well over 300kmh. Silverstone is approx. 120km from London. |

| | | First raced in 1916, the 4300mtr summit (Kosciuszko is 2228mtr) of Pikes Peak marks the end of the 20klm hillclimb. 2008 marks the 86th running of this event. Outright record of 10m 4.6s was set by Kiwi Rod Millen in 1994. This record stood for some 13 years until knocked off by Nobuhiro Tajima last year (2007) with a stunning 10m 01s! |

| | | Held biannually near Ely, approx. 400km north of Las Vegas. The course is 145km stretch of Route 318 highway. The record is held by Chuck Shafer who in a Chrysler LeBaron NASCAR covered the course in just 25 minutes at an average of 334km/h and topped 354km/h on the fastest part. Shafers record average of 334km/h is listed in the Guinness Book of Records as the 'Fastest Speed on a Public Highway'. This part of Route 318 has an altitude of 1800m above sea level... Event begins 18th ends 21st September. |

| | | Rnd 16 - The Fuji Speedway was opened in 1965 and staged two F1 races in 1976 and 1977. The circuit measures 4.5km and features the longest straight in F1 at 1.4km in length. Travelling by car, Fuji Speedway is about an hour from Tokyo. |

| | | Rnd 17 - Shaped like the Chinese character 'shang', which stands for 'high' or 'above', the Shanghai International Circuit is one of the newest race tracks to join the circus. Built on re claimed marshland the track is 5.4 km in length. |

| | | Rnd 18 - Autodromo Carlos Pace is situated in the suburb of Sao Paulo in the city Interlagos. Named after local Carlos Pace who took his one and only victory here in the '70s. Ayrton Senna too, was a Sao Paulo native as is Rubens Barrichello. The track is 4.3 km long with a couple of places where a F1 car is travelling well over 300 kmh. |

| | | Rnd 12 - The Bahrain International Circuit measures some 5.4km in length and is located some 30km south-west of the island's capital, Manama. Welsh granite was chosen for the track surface due to its excellent adhesive qualities (not sure how well that worked out). The V8 Supercars use a shortened layout of the F1 track. Meeting starts Thursday the 6th and concludes Saturday 8th. |

The Grand Finale for the V8 Supercar competition year, it will also be the 38th consecutive meeting held here and due to the encroaching urban sprawl, the last round ever on this circuit. This years event begins 4th December and culminates on Sunday 7th. |
